Stage 0 – Global / Agnostic (00-global/00-base)​

Create a new -global/base token for all brands?​

Scenario: A designer identifies that our ecosystem is missing a base spacing unit for new responsive layouts.

  • There is a need to add gb.spacing.56 with value 56.
  • This is agnostic → it can be used by all brands.
  • Designers in any brand can now build layouts using consistent spacing without duplicating values.
Outcome:

All brands inherit the new spacing unit automatically.

How to override this --global/base token for a specific brand or product?​

Scenario: After a review from the design team, there is a need to change the spacing for Sky brand in order to align with their Fountations. The value should be changed to 64px in all the component using the semantic token xxxx-huge.
